Future Present – Sarah Bodman & Terrie Reddish in conversation

A recorded talk Sarah Bodman & Terrie Reddish made for BIND25 – preserving the past and crafting the future, the Association of Book Crafts New Zealand Inc. conference, Auckland University of Technology, September 2025.

We discuss aspects of national and international bookmaking in all its forms by artists and craftspeople, looking at how traditional processes and practices are valued and can be continued, new ways and inspirations of working with books, and how the next generation might be trained and taught these skills.

We also talk about current opportunities and ways of getting involved in the local and wider communities of these practices. We are here to celebrate all creative aspects of books, their makers and those who inspire others through their teaching and promotion of valuable skills.
