Collaboration

CFPR offer you unique opportunities to address some of your emerging challenges, while also developing postdoctoral talent in your organisation, or identifying talent that could provide a positive impact through their research and perhaps join you in the future to enhance your capabilities. It provides access to world-class academic expertise and facilities, affording membership of a unique group which is positioned to address design analogue and digital challenges.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart our inclusive environment within which diverse postdoctoral talent flourishes. By ultimately helping embed this diverse talent we aim to contribute to enrich our partners.

Workshop

In The Workshop, specialist technicians work in a multi-functional space, manufacturing many of CFPR’s tools, prototypes, research equipment and
three-dimensional artworks.

We work with a range of materials, including model board, wood, metal, plastic, ceramics, glass, electronics, paper, and textiles, for many creative and technical applications. These include: CNC milling, water jet and laser cutting, FDM and SLA 3D printing and DED 3D printing (for printing solid metal objects). There are also glass and ceramic kilns, as well as metalworking and woodworking lathes and tools. The Workshop provides researchers with high-precision machining flexibility. Our most advanced piece of equipment is the HAAS CNC milling machine, featuring five-axis capabilities and a built-in metal 3D printer that can print in steel alloy, bronze, and precious metals.

The Print Studio

CFPR strives to push print beyond the traditional boundaries. Specialising in limited edition prints, we explore how the notion of the multiple can be expanded into novel and unexpected dimensions.

Experimenting with laser cutters, plotters, glass, ceramics, textiles, and paper, as well
as novel inks, UV and digital printing in 2D and 3D, this innovative approach places CFPR Editions in a unique position within the print publishing market, combining craftsmanship with pioneering research into emerging technologies and novel materials.
