Worton Hall Studios London and Sir Peter Blake

Sir Peter Blake’s project, Ways of Making, seeks to explore the range of traditional and contemporary processes at the disposal of an artist. Taking as a theme the image of a primrose growing from a ceramic bowl – inspired by a line from Dylan Thomas – the project is working towards a comprehensive survey of image reproduction in the field of printmaking. Working at the cutting edge of contemporary printmaking, experts at the Centre for Fine Print Research were able to introduce Sir Peter Blake to new technologies including robotic-arm painting, digital embroidery, 3D printing and laser etching. The show included contributions by UWE staff and students: Carinna Parraman, David Huson, Arthur Buxton, Becky Gooby, Sophie Zajicek, Laura-Beth Cowley, Walter Guy Verity Winslow, Sandra Wilson, Susanna Clasby and Zarya Moskovits.

The Ways of Making project was launched at the London Original Print Fair 24-28 April 2019. Professor Carinna Parraman was in conversation with Sir Peter Blake and Helen Rosslyn, Director of the London Original Print Fair on Friday 26 April 2019.
