Man-made crystals in jewellery – an investigation into the design implications, possibilities, and limits of utilising cultured crystals in the development of jewellery designs and how related processes could be introduced into contemporary jewellery practice. The expected outcomes of the research includes a demonstration of a working methodology for the creation of cultured crystals as part of the jewellery design and development process and a range of designs and models, which demonstrate and/or illustrate the opportunities and benefits of cultured crystals in a contemporary jewellery context.
