CFPR research image selected as cover for Printing for Fabrication Proceedings
Congratulations to CFPR Research Associate Abigail Trujillo Vazquez for winning ‘best image’ at this year’s Printing for Fabrication Conference. Abigail’s image was selected as the cover of the 2021 Conference Proceedings.
The image (featured above) is a detail of a sample print from a study on methods to recreate an ancient Mayan relief in full-colour. The print shows variations on height and was made by inkjet-based 2.5D printing. It is an outcome of the project: Recreating the appearance of Maya polychrome reliefs by 2.5D printing.
Abigail was co-author on a paper given at the conference, with CFPR co-authors Dr Xavi Aure, Dr Susanne Klein and Professor Carinna Parraman, titled ‘Recreating the Relief of the Temple of the Jaguars: Exploring Digital and Analogue 2.5D Printing of Mesoamerican Imagery’.
