Iftikhar Ali


Research Title: Wearable and Ultra-Lightweight OPV-Based Energy Generating Textiles

Commenced: April 2022

Engr. Iftikhar Ali joined CFPR (UWE) in April 2022 to complete his PhD. During his PhD Iftikhar will conduct research on the development of energy harvesting OPVs and other energy harvesting devices such as TENG onto textiles for wearable electronic applications.

In 2017, he was awarded a fully funded scholarship (ICT R&D Fund Pakistan) from International Islamic University Islamabad Pakistan to complete his bachelor (BS) in Electronic Engineering. Later in 2021, he completed his Masters (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university. During his master’s thesis research, Ali worked on nanogenerators for harvesting wind energy. Additionally, he has taught at the secondary school and college levels.

Iftikhar’s PhD project is funded by AUGTEX OÜ and UWE.
