Vicki King
Vicki King is an artist and educator working with the medium of drawing. She completed her MA at Wimbledon College of Art in 2007, where she began to explore a dialogue between physical and digital drawing through installations that layered the two approaches. She has since applied her digital skills to her work within arts organisations on web projects and with Apple as a digital art facilitator. Alongside her PhD research she is course leader for BA (Hons) Graphic Design at University Centre Weston.
With these dual strands of her career in mind, Vicki is researching the influence and impact of technological change on drawing as fine art practice. She’ll be conducting her research through an art historical survey of the parallel timelines of technological change and developments in drawing since the introduction of the Gutenberg press, practice-based drawing experiments and contemporary case studies of artists working with these mediums.
