Curating the Curio Case – Caterina Lastrucci
Introducing Caterina Lastrucci, MA Fine Art: Curating student at UWE Bristol
Caterina’s curatorial research interest focuses on the dialogue between human connections and printmaking as an accessible and democratic visual tool. For her curatorial residency at the CFPR, Caterina is preparing the Curio Case – a smaller, more portable and accessible version of their Cabinet of Curiosities – to be showcased at Art Basel in June .
Her aim is to reflect on the themes explored by the Artist in Residence practitioners and curate her own exhibition for the Curio Case. The unique display will serve as a starting point for conversations and will invite different audiences to engage and share their own experiences and thoughts. Attendees at Art Basel will also be able to explore a selection of the CFPR’s limited edition artworks, emerging technologies and novel materials.
Caterina explains, “The Curio Case will be a travel tool crossing different people and places, and the artworks selected will embody this element of movement and impermanence.”
