Textile Intersections Exhibition was held at Loughborough University London, Here East, on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London from 12-14th September 2019 curated by Laura Morgan, Wallscourt Fellow at CFPR, Amy Winters, RCA and Ricardo Nascimento, Loughborough University. The exhibition was held alongside Textile Intersections Conference on the theme of collaboration in Textile Design Research.
This, the second iteration of Textile Intersections Exhibition celebrated the breadth of creative collaborations within textile design research with an international selection of 22 works. Centred around four themes: textiles and interactions; textile materialities and processes; critical textiles; and textiles and architecture; The exhibition considered the powerful role of cross- and interdisciplinary collaborations to advance research in the field of textiles and materials. From novel material surfaces, data interfaces and social innovation to wearable technology, the built environment and the circular economy, the exhibition displayed the powerful role that interdisciplinary collaboration can play in instigating innovation, debate, and a spectacular visual treat.
