We welcome your proposals to participate in the IMPACT 12 conference.
We would like to hear from all individuals and groups who are interested in:
Exhibiting
Curating an exhibition
Presenting
Chairing a panel of talks
Hosting a workshop
Summer challenges

We will kick start in early summer 2022 with #summerofprintandbooks and continue until the conference in September.

Open call curated Exhibition
Open call curated exhibitions
We invite applications from individuals who are interested in curating an exhibition that reflects on the themes of the conference. In round 1, please submit an application by Friday 7 January 2022 by emailing impact12@uwe.ac.uk and clearly stating Open Call Curated Exhibitions in the subject.

The IMPACT committee will select the open curated exhibitions and will aim to inform you by Friday 4 February 2022. 
IMPACT will then publicise your open call on the website, and ask artists to submit their proposals directly to you by Friday 4 March 2022 (round 2).
Please inform us of your selected participants by Monday 14 March 2022.
solo and Group Exhibition
Solo and group exhibitions
We invite solo artists and group shows to submit your exhibition. You are invited to submit an application by Monday 7 February 2022 by emailing impact12@uwe.ac.uk and clearly stating Solo and Group Exhibitions in the subject.

Academic Position paper 
Academic position paper (final length 4000-5000 words)
We ask the author(s) to consider presenting a critical or contextual analysis that provides new and original insights into the academic field of printmaking. The paper presentations will be live-screened for the online audience. The full paper will also be considered for the IMPACT Printmaking Journal as a special edition on selected highlights of the conference proceedings.

The deadline for your 600-word synopsis will be Monday 7 February. Please note the call for papers is not yet open and will be hosted via our online system.
Reflective practice paper 
Reflective practice paper (final length 2000-3000 words)
We invite individuals to present their own creative research or personal practice in the field of printmaking. This track may also include exploratory research as yet undeveloped and researchers in the early stages of their PhD research. This paper will be presented at themed parallel sessions.

Reflective practice panel 
Reflective practice panel
We invite groups who have worked on a collaborative project or exhibition and wish to present their research or personal practice as a panel. You are invited to submit an application by Monday 7 Jan 2022 by emailing impact12@uwe.ac.uk and clearly stating Reflective Practice Panel in the subject.

Open Panel discussion 
Open call for proposals for a panel discussion
We ask chairs to propose an open panel discussion that reflects on the themes of the conference. Parallel sessions typically involve 4-5 panellists who will each present a short point of view, question or provocation. These sessions may involve a coming together of academics and artists to discuss a common theme or respond to a research question posed by the chair. These panel sessions should not be used to present personal research or group exhibitions (please apply instead to reflective practice paper or reflective practice panel). Active audience discussion and debate should also be factored into the planning of these sessions. In round 1, you are invited to submit an application by Friday 7 January 2022 by emailing impact12@uwe.ac.uk and clearly stating Open Call for Proposals for a Panel Discussion in the subject.

The impact of theoretical structures and contextual practice
The impact of alternative photography entering the print room
The impact of artists’ books on the contemporary fine print
The impact of collaboration - printers and their artists
The impact of digital technology on printmaking
The impact of global communication on printmaking
The impact of the collector on current printmaking practice

  • Calling all co-operatives, print studios and printmaking workshops! 
  • We invite all co-operatives and printmaking workshops to promote your studios on this Impact12 website and during the conference. Posting is free of charge and you do not need to attend the conference. Email impact12@uwe.ac.uk.

  • 2-3 images, for example, the outside or the inside of your workshop and an interesting feature.
