Fiona Quill is currently the Program Leader of Print Contemporary Practice in the Limerick School of Art and Design. She is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Limerick Printmakers which is an expanding and progressive organization for printmakers in the west of Ireland. She’s a director on Creative Europe projects that provides vital funds for developing the arts in Ireland. Quill is also an active printmaker whose work is produced through the process of screenprint, lithography, and occasionally etching. Quill’s work is based on self-examination. She uses this process to unpack issues of environmental, social, and political concerns. She believes printmaking is a powerful tool for communication and believes in its ability make a strong impact on society.

With this seminar Quill will weave the work she produces as a printmaker and how she is balancing a developing career, the difficulty of saying ‘no’ to opportunities and the advantage of working in a process that teaches you about the multiple and applying that to your working life.

If you know of anyone who wants to be added to the CFPR Seminar Group mailing list to hear about upcoming talks and events, or put forward for a talk, please let me know at damien.leech@uwe.ac.uk.
